Big Ten Dual-Meet Title Scenarios

Entering the weekend, six Big Ten teams have a chance to claim a stake of the conference's regular season dual-meet championship. Minnesota currently holds first place in the Big Ten standings at 6-1, while Nebraska and Penn State are tied for second at 5-1. Illinois and Iowa share fourth place at 5-2 with Michigan rounding out the top six at 4-2. Minnesota, Nebraska and Penn State each have a chance to clinch the title outright this weekend, while Illinois, Iowa and Michigan each can claim a share. Below is a breakdown of the Big Ten regular season dual-meet title scenarios.

Minnesota clinches outright...
If the Gophers defeat Nebraska on Sunday and Penn State loses to either Nebraska on Friday or Michigan on Sunday. Minnesota would finish 7-1 in the Big Ten.

Penn State clinches outright...
If the Nittany Lions defeat Nebraska on Friday and Michigan on Sunday and Minnesota loses to Nebraska on Friday. Penn State would finish 7-1 in the Big Ten.

Nebraska clinches outright...
If the Huskers defeat Penn State on Friday and Minnesota on Sunday. The wins would give Nebraska a 7-1 conference record.

Minnesota and Penn State share...
If the Gophers defeat Nebraska on Friday and the Nittany Lions defeat both Nebraska and Michigan. Both teams would close the conference season with identical 7-1 records.

Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and Penn State share...
If Penn State defeats Nebraska, Ohio State defeats Michigan and Illinois defeats Wisconsin on Friday, and Nebraska defeats Minnesota, Michigan defeats Penn State and Iowa defeats Wisconsin on Sunday. All five teams would finish the conference season at 6-2.
