Purdue recorded a doubleheader sweep on Saturday, while Nebraska, Northwestern and Penn State also picked up conference wins, and Michigan, Michigan State and Minnesota earned non-conference victories.

After dropping its Big Ten Conference opener on Friday night, the Nebraska baseball team rebounded with an 18-5 win over the Illinois Fighting Illini at Hawks Field on Saturday afternoon to tie the three-game series at 1-1. Trailing 3-0 going into the bottom of the second, NU plated 11 runs on seven hits, as the first nine batters of the inning reached base and scored. RECAP & BOX SCORE

PENN STATE def. INDIANA, 4-3 (10)
After a long wait to get Saturday's game underway because of a rain delay, junior Elliot Searer ended the day on the right note with an extra inning, walk-off RBI single in the 10th to give Penn State a 4-3 victory over Indiana. RECAP & BOX SCORE


The University of Iowa baseball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Northwestern Saturday afternoon at Duane Banks Field. Both starting pitchers struck out nine batters, but it was Northwestern who got the timely hits and ultimately win the second game of the three-game weekend set. RECAP & BOX SCORE

The pitching quartet of senior Brandon Sinnery, freshman Trent Szkutnik, fifth-year senior Travis Smith and freshman James Bourque combined to allow just one hit in the University of Michigan baseball team's 4-2 win over IPFW Saturday afternoon at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium. MICHIGAN STATE def. Oakland, 11-2
Junior left fielder Jordan Keur had a career-best four RBIs and tied a career high with four hits to lead the Michigan State baseball team past Oakland, 11-2, Saturday afternoon at McLane Baseball Stadium. MINNESOTA def. The Citadel, 3-0
The University of Minnesota baseball team used a three-run first inning, while DJ Snelten and Kevin Kray combined for the shutout to give the Golden Gophers a 3-0 win over The Citadel, today at the H.H.H. Metrodome. With the win, the Gopher improve to 10-13 on the season, winning two games against the Bulldogs after a 2-1 ninth-inning win last night. RECAP & BOX SCORE

#24 PURDUE def. OHIO STATE, 8-5 and 8-1
The Ohio State baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader against No. 24 Purdue Saturday afternoon at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. The Boilermakers took Game 1, 8-5, before winning Game 2, 8-1. Ohio State drops to 11-10 overall, 0-2 in Big Ten play, while Purdue improves to 16-3, 2-0 in the conference. RECAPS & BOX SCORES
