Junior left fielder Justin Parr went 3-for-4 with an RBI double but Indiana scored seven runs in the third inning and held on for a 12-3 win over Illinois in front of 1,128 fans at Illinois Field on Friday. IOWA def. NEBRASKA, 4-3
A four-run fifth inning propelled the Iowa Hawkeyes to a 4-3 series-opening win over the Nebraska baseball team on Friday night at Hawks Field. The Huskers took a 2-0 lead into the fifth and cut Iowa's lead to one with a run in the bottom of the fifth, but were unable to plate a run over the final four innings to tie the game. Senior Brandon Sinnery threw 8.1 shutout innings and freshman Dylan Delaney and junior Patrick Biondi each hit solo home runs as the University of Michigan baseball team opened its three-game series against Michigan State with a 4-0 win over the Spartans Friday afternoon in front of 2,002 fans at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium. OHIO STATE def. MINNESOTA, 2-1
Tim Wetzel laid down a perfectly-executed bunt to score Greg Solomon in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Ohio State baseball team a 2-1 win over Minnesota Friday night at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. PENN STATE def. Canisius, 15-5
