Eight Big Ten student-athletes have been named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America Team, as announced on Thursday. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30, have sophomore eligibility and be nominated by his or her sports information director.
