Purdue catcher Kevin Plawecki was named a second-team All-American by Baseball America and a third-team All-American by the ABCA. Plawecki was the Big Ten's Player of the Year and the conference tournament's Most Outstanding Player and was taken in the Compensation A round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft.
