Big Ten quarterbacks Devin Gardner of Michigan and Matt McGloin of Penn State were named among the eight "Stars of the Week" selected by the Manning Award. Gardner threw for 314 yards and accounted for six touchdowns in a win against Iowa, becoming just the sixth FBS quarterback since 2000 to throw for more than 300 yards, pass for three touchdowns and rush for three scores. McGloin threw for a career-high 395 yards and four touchdowns, becoming the program's single-season record holder for passing yards and career leader in touchdown passes, in a win against Indiana.
