Driven by a group of four scoring in double figures, the University of Iowa women's basketball team upset No. 24 Ohio State, 77-71, in overtime, on Mediacom Court inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The cast or kettle outlasted the predominantly one-Buckeye show of Tayler Hill, who scored 34 points -- 48 percent of her team's points. RECAP

Michigan 65, Indiana 48
Three Wolverines scored in double figures as the University of Michigan women's basketball team opened the Big Ten schedule with a 65-48 win over Indiana on Thursday night (Jan. 3) inside Crisler Center. U-M used a 15-2 run that spanned the end of the first and beginning of the second halves to claim its seventh straight victory. RECAP

Michigan State 66, Minnesota 51
The Michigan State women's basketball team used a strong second half to pull away from Minnesota 66-51 to win its Big Ten opener tonight at Breslin Center. Bench production was key for Michigan State, as Jasmine Hines, Kiana Johnson and Akyah Taylor combined for 35 points and 14 rebounds. Johnson led the way with 17 points, adding four assists (no turnovers) and three steals. Hines was 7-for-11 from the field for 15 points. Klarissa Bell added 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds, while Jasmine Thomas posted seven points, eight rebounds, a game-high five assists and two steals. RECAP

Penn State 73, Northwestern 69
The #9/9 Penn State Lady Lions (11-2, 1-0 Big Ten) used a late rally to fend off the Northwestern Wildcats (8-6, 0-1) in their Big Ten opener by a score of 73-69 on Thursday night at the Bryce Jordan Center. The Wildcats held a six-point advantage with 4:47 remaining in the contest, but Penn State closed the game on 17-9 run to seal the comeback victory. RECAP
