The Illinois women's basketball outdueled the visiting Wisconsin Badgers Monday night in a game of runs, earning a hard fought 60-53 victory. The Illini have now won three straight inside the comfy confines of Assembly Hall, as they moved their overall record to 15-9. In addition, the win jumps their Big Ten record to 8-4 which moves the Orange and Blue into a tie for third place with Purdue and Michigan.
Karisma Penn and Adrienne GodBold ueled the Illini attack, scoring 42 of the team's 60 points on a
combined 15-33 shooting from the field. Penn's tally of 26 points and 14
rebounds resulted in the senior's 40th career double double, which
moves Penn into a tie for second place all-time with Jonelle Polk and 13
behind the leader Jenna Smith.
In addition, Penn's 24 points were the most since she scored 34 against
