#4 Michigan 87, #1 Kansas 85 (OT)
Behind double-double performances by freshman forward Mitch McGary (25 points and 14 rebounds) and sophomore guard Trey Burke (23 points and 10 assists), the University of Michigan men's basketball team (No. 10 AP, No. 11 Coaches) defeated top-seeded Kansas (No. 3 AP, No. 3 Coaches), 87-85, in overtime on Friday night inside Cowboys Stadium. The fourth-seeded Wolverines trailed by 14 points before outscoring the Jayhawks 23-8 over the final seven minutes of the second half -- capped by a long triple by Burke in the waning seconds to send the game into overtime and advance to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight for the first time since the 1993-1994 season. Freshman guard Glenn Robinson III, freshman guard Nik Stauskas and junior guard Tim Hardaway Jr. also contributed in double-digit scoring. #2 Duke 71, #3 Michigan State 61
Keith Appling scored a team-high 16 points, while Adreian Payne added 14 points and 10 rebounds, but the third-seeded Michigan State Spartans couldn't get past second-seeded Duke, falling 71-61 in the Midwest Region semifinal on Friday night. Duke's Seth Curry led all scorers with 29 points, shooting 8-of-17 from the floor, including 6-of-9 from long range in the victory. Rasheed Sulaimon added 16 points and Mason Plumlee finished with 14 as the Blue Devils advance to face Louisville in the regional final. RECAP
