Iowa 74, Nebraska 60
A 17-0 run midway through the second half sent the University of Iowa men's basketball team to a 74-60 victory over Nebraska on Saturday afternoon on Mediacom Court inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The win gives Iowa its first 20-win season since 2005-06 and locks up the No. 6 seed in next week's Big Ten Tournament. The Hawkeyes will face No. 11 seed Northwestern on Thursday night at 8 p.m. (CT) at the United Center in Chicago. "It's a big step for us," said White of the 20 victories. "You look at the past couple of years, and they've been through their struggles, and we kind of turned it around last year with the NIT. Now it's all about that next step, getting quality wins and making the NCAA tournament." RECAP

Purdue 89, Minnesota 73
D.J. Byrd and Rapheal Davis each scored 18 points as Purdue rolled past Minnesota 89-73 on Saturday. The Boilermakers (15-16, 8-10) won for only the third time in seven games as they head into next week's Big Ten tournament. For Minnesota (20-11, 8-10), it was another dreadful day on the road. Forward Trevor Mbakwe got into early foul trouble and the Golden Gophers looked flat as they fell into an early 15-point deficit. They never recovered. Andre Hollins scored 24 points, Rodney Williams added 13 points and Mbakwe finished with six points and 10 rebounds after playing fewer than five minutes in the first half. Minnesota lost its third straight to the Boilermakers and its eighth consecutive road game. RECAP
