Wisconsin 5, Illinois 1 (Game 1); Wisconsin 5, Illinois 2 (Game 2)
Thirteen proved to be a lucky number for the Wisconsin softball team Saturday afternoon as a 5-2 win over Illinois earned the Badgers a series sweep on the opening weekend of Big Ten play and extended their school record for consecutive victories. UW posted a 5-1 win over the Illini in the day's first game at Eichelberger Field to set a school record with 12-consecutive wins. Wisconsin (25-3 overall, 3-0 Big Ten) tallied a win on Friday over the Illini (10-15, 0-3) to open league play with a 3-0 record for just the fourth time in school history and first time since 2005. Minnesota 7, Iowa 3 (Game 1); Minnesota 10, Iowa 1 (Game 2)
Game 1: A pair of three-run innings helped Minnesota defeat Iowa, 7-3, in the first game of a Big Ten doubleheader on Saturday. The Gophers posted consecutive three-run innings in the third and fourth, before adding an insurance run in the top of the seventh to earn the victory. RECAP Game 2: Minnesota completed a three-game sweep at Iowa to open Big Ten play by scoring eight runs in the final two innings to post a decisive 10-1 win against the Hawkeyes. Minnesota trailed 1-0 through the first three innings, as the Gophers stranded nine runners on base in those innings. But Minnesota finally broke through with a pair of runs in the fourth, then added two more in the sixth and six runs in the seventh to complete the sweep. RECAP

Michigan 13, Purdue 5 (Game 1); Michigan 8, Purdue 7 (Game 2)
The No. 14-ranked University of Michigan softball team erased deficits of five runs and six runs on its way to victories of 13-5 in six innings and 8-7 over the Purdue Boilermakers in a doubleheader today (Saturday, March 23) at the Wilpon Complex. The three-game series served as U-M's Big Ten and home opening weekend. RECAP

Indiana 6, Ohio State 4 (Game 1, 9 innings); Ohio State 8, Indiana 2 (Game 2)
Game 1: In what turned out to be nearly three hours of an absolute seesaw battle, the Indiana softball team outlasted Ohio State, 6-4, in a nine-inning marathon for the opening half of the two teams' doubleheader this afternoon in Columbus, Ohio. The Hoosiers' win deals OSU its first loss in conference play and snaps the Buckeyes seven-game winning steak. RECAP
Game 2: The Ohio State offense notched 11 hits on eight runs against Indiana in game two, while DiDomenico limited the IU bats to two runs on three hits to improve to 8-3 overall in 2013 as Ohio State won 8-2 to wrap up the opening weekend at Buckeye Field. Offensively, Ohio State was led by Watkins, who went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, three runs scored and a season-high four RBI. Gresham was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI, while Pickett went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored. RECAP
