Minnesota 9, Illinois 3
Sophomore Kaitlyn Richardson hit a grand slam and sophomore Tyler Walker hit her third home run of the weekend, as Minnesota completed a sweep of Illinois with a 9-3 win on Sunday afternoon. Richardson's opposite field grand slam to left center, her eighth home run of the season, broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the third inning. The Gophers were the home team in all three games this weekend in a series that had originally been scheduled to be played in Minneapolis, but was moved to Champaign due to inclement weather in the Twin Cities. Michigan 11, Michigan State 2 (Game 1); Michigan 8, Michigan State 7 (8) (Game 2)
The No. 12-ranked University of Michigan used the home run ball to sweep a doubleheader at Michigan State today (Sunday, April 14) at Secchia Stadium. U-M posted an 11-2, six-inning win in game one before rallying for an 8-7 win in eight innings in game two. RECAP

Nebraska 11, Wisconsin 2
An eight-run third inning powered the 18th-ranked Nebraska softball team to a 11-2 series-clinching five-inning victory over the Wisconsin Badgers on Sunday at Bowlin Stadium. The Huskers broke a 2-2 tie with the eight-run third inning. Nebraska sent 14 batters to the plate in the frame, producing six hits and five walks. The big inning helped NU win its 30th game, as the Huskers improved to 30-9 overall and 8-3 in Big Ten Conference play. RECAP

Northwestern 11, Iowa 3
Northwestern plated four runs in the first and six more in the fifth inning Sunday in the finale of its series against Iowa at Sharon J. Drysdale Field, earning its fourth run-rule victory in its last seven games, 11-3 (5). Letourneau (14-9) earned the complete-game win, going 5.0 innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits and four walks with nine strikeouts. Bast had a 2-for-3 day with four RBIs and two runs scored. Scharkey had two hits and two RBIs and Majam and Tonz each scored twice. RECAP

Ohio State 4, Penn State 3 (8)
The Ohio State softball team swept Penn State in a three-game series after defeating the Nittany Lions, 4-3, in eight innings Sunday at Buckeye Field. Sophomore Caitlin Conrad posted the gamewinning play on a sacrifice fly to center field in the bottom of the eighth, allowing senior Megan Coletta to cross the plate. With the sweep, the Buckeyes improve to 26-14 overall and 6-6 in Big Ten play. RECAP

Purdue 7, Indiana 3
Seven players contributed hits as the Boilermaker softball team came back from a midgame Hoosier rally to pick up a 7-3 win and Purdue's first season sweep of Indiana since 2009. Purdue scored its seven runs on nine hits and three IU miscues, while allowing Indiana three runs on eight hits and an error. Sophomore Ashley Burkhardt and junior Lindsey Rains led the Boilermaker bats with two hits apiece. Freshman Lilly Fecho (8-12) struck out three in four and two thirds innings of relief work en route to the win, while sophomore Lexy Moore issued one K in two and a third innings. RECAP
