The Associated Press released its preseason top 25 poll on Saturday, with five Big Ten teams ranked among the top 25. After an undefeated season in 2012, Ohio State led the way at No. 2, including one first-place vote. Other Big Ten teams among the top 25 are No. 17 Michigan, No. 18 Nebraska, No. 22 Northwestern and No. 23 Wisconsin.
The 2013 season begins on Thursday, Aug. 29, with Indiana hosting Indiana State and Minnesota welcoming UNLV. Michigan State opens its campaign on Friday, Aug. 30, at home against Western Michigan. The remaining nine conference teams all begin play on Saturday, August 31.
Big Ten play begins with Purdue at Wisconsin on Saturday, Sept. 21, and culminates with the third annual Big Ten Football Championship Game on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The winner of the title game will have the opportunity to play in one of two historic games in Pasadena, Cailf. - the 100th Rose Bowl Game on Jan. 1, or the Bowl Championship Series National Championship Game on Jan. 6.
