Four Big Ten Squads to Face Professional Polish Team

Four Big Ten volleyball squads will face off against Tauron MKS Dabrowa Gornicza, a team from the Polish Champions League, in exhibition matches in the coming weeks. The club will tour the United States for three weeks, competing against Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State and Purdue in the process. 

Dabrowa comes to the U.S. after reaching several high points in club history. In 2010-11, Dabrowa reached the title match of the CEV Women's Volleyball Cup. The CEV is the governing body of 55 national federation teams from across Europe and the highest level of competition for professional clubs. This year, Dabrowa captured the Polish Cup, qualifying the team for its fifth appearance in the CEV Women's Volleyball Cup since 2009.

Dabrowa's lineup consists of athletes from four difference countries, including Belgium, Czech Republic, Italy and Poland. Current player, Maja Tokarska, also played on the 2012 Olympic team for Poland.

Friday, August 30 - at Penn State, 7 p.m. 
Sunday, September 1 - at Penn State, 11 a.m. 
Wednesday, September 4 - at Ohio State, 7 p.m. 
Friday, September 6 - vs. Purdue, 4:30 p.m. [1]
Monday, September 9 - at Northwestern, 8 p.m.
