Pair of Big Ten Men's Soccer Teams Ranked in Preseason Top 25

Defending national champion Indiana enters the 2013 men's college soccer season as the nation's No. 1 team, as announced in the NSCAA/Continental Tire preseason top 25 poll on Tuesday afternoon. The Hoosiers won their eighth national title in 2012, becoming the first No. 16 seed in history to win the championship. Northwestern, who won a share of the Big Ten Championship last season, also begins the campaign in the top 25, checking in at No. 19 in the preseason poll. Michigan, the Big Ten Tournament runner-up in 2012, also collected four votes in the poll.

The Big Ten men's soccer season officially kicks off on Friday, Aug. 30. Conference play is set to begin on Oct. 1, with the Big Ten Tournament being hosted by Ohio State from Nov. 13-17.
