Nebraska and Wisconsin Recognized in Latest NSCAA/NCAA Top 25 Poll

The latest NSCAA/NCAA men's soccer coaches' top 25 poll was released. Earning recognition from the Big Ten was No. 16 Northwestern and No. 25 Wisconsin.

Northwestern, which improved from No. 24 to No. 16, finished last weekend with a pair of shutout wins. The Wildcats (4-1-0) defeated Green Bay, 4-0, on Sept. 13, and blanked Butler, 2-0, on Sept. 15. Wisconsin landed at No. 25 in the poll after shutting out USF, 2-0, and Florida Gulf Coast, 2-1, to improve its record to 4-0-1.

Indiana and Michigan earned votes in this week's poll. Last week, Indiana defeated CSU Bakersfield in a 4-1 decision, and Michigan earned a 1-1 draw against USF.

In Big Ten play this weekend, Indiana, Ohio State and Penn State will all host non-conference games, while Michigan will travel to West Virginia. Wisconsin will compete in the UIC Soccer Classic in Chicago, and Northwestern will host the Northwestern Lakeside Classic in Evanston, Ill., from Sept. 20-22.
