Three Big Ten men's soccer players earned recognition in Top Drawer Soccer, CollegeSoccer360.com and College Sports Madness weekly honors, including Michigan's Tyler Arnone and Penn State's Mike Robinson and Andrew Wolverton.
Robinson and Arnone earned spots on the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week, it was announced Wednesday. Robinson recorded one assist in the Nittany Lions' 2-1 double-overtime win against Michigan State in East Lansing, Mich., on Oct. 20. Arnone scored the game-winning goal in Michigan's 2-1 defeat of Wisconsin in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Oct. 20.
Wolverton was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, and was selected as the College Sports Madness Big Ten Player of the Week.
Indiana, Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin will all compete in nonconference matchups this week. On Saturday, Indiana and Michigan will go head-to-head in a match that will air on BTN beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
The race for the Big Ten Championship heats up this weekend. Penn State controls its own destiny and can clinch the outright title with a win against Northwestern on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. In the second game of a live doubleheader on BTN, Michigan State and Wisconsin will kickoff at 3 p.m. ET.
