Michigan's offensive explosion against Indiana pushed the Wolverines up to No. 24 in the AP poll, No. 23 in the coaches' ranking and No. 22 in the Harris vote. Nebraska had a bye, but moved up to No. 25 in the media ranking while holding steady at No. 21 in the coaches' vote and No. 23 in the Harris system. Michigan State continued to receive votes in all three polls, standing just outside the top 25 at No. 26 overall in the USA Today and Harris Interactive rankings and No. 29 overall in the AP poll.
