Five Teams Earn Recognition in Latest Top 25 Polls

Five Big Ten teams garnered recognition in the latest NSCAA/NCAA Coaches, Soccer America and Top Drawer Soccer top 25 women's soccer polls released on Tuesday.

In the weekly coaches poll, Penn State improved to No. 7, followed by No. 18 Wisconsin. Michigan and Nebraska are ranked No. 21 and 23, respectively, while Ohio State earned votes in the poll. In the Soccer America poll, Penn State led the way at No. 8, and Nebraska checked in at No. 23. Michigan and Wisconsin are tied at No. 25 in the poll. In Top Drawer Soccer's poll, the Nittany Lions are ranked No. 7, followed by No. 17 Michigan and No. 23 Wisconsin.

Penn State earned the accolades after defeating three Big Ten opponents, including Northwestern, Purdue and Indiana. Wisconsin defeated Michigan State, 2-0, on Sept. 29, while Michigan dropped a 1-0 decision against Minnesota. Nebraska earned its No. 23 ranking after defeating its first three conference opponents. Ohio State also received votes after splitting with Indiana and Purdue.

All 12 teams will compete in Ben Ten play this week. On Thursday, Iowa and Nebraska will go head-to-head. Michigan will also travel to Michigan State in a match that will air on BTN at 3 p.m. ET. On Friday, the eight remaining teams will face conference opponents.
