The NSCAA/NCAA Coaches, Soccer America and Top Drawer Soccer top 25 men's soccer polls were updated Tuesday. Big Ten teams earning recognition included Northwestern, Michigan State and Penn State.

Northwestern landed a season-high No. 5 ranking in the coaches poll, while Michigan State and Penn State both earned votes. In the Soccer America poll, the Wildcats improved to a season-best No. 3. In Top Drawer Soccer's top 25 poll, Northwestern checked in at No. 11, followed by No. 19 Penn State and No. 25 Michigan State.

Northwestern moved up in all three polls after a 2-0 shutout of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Sept. 28. Penn State, which has won four straight games, defeated Wisconsin, 3-1, in its Big Ten home-opener on Sept. 29. Last week, Michigan State posted a 2-2 tie against No. 3 Creighton, defeated Northern Illinois, 2-0, and shut out UIC in Chicago on Tuesday, 2-0.

Six Big Ten teams will continue conference play this weekend. Michigan will travel to Ohio State on Sunday, while Northwestern will entertain Michigan State. The Penn State-Indiana matchup will air on BTN at 2:30 p.m. ET.
