The Walter Camp Football Foundation announced that Michigan State linebacker Denicos Allen has been named the Football Bowl Subdivision National Defensive Player of the Week, presented by Generation UCAN, for games ending November 2. Allen, a senior from Hamilton, Ohio, recorded nine tackles, including three for losses, and two quarterback sacks as 24th-ranked Michigan State defeated rival Michigan, 29-6.  Allen's play led a Spartan defense that allowed just 168 yards of total offense, including minus-48 yards rushing.  With the win, MSU improved to 8-1, 5-0 in the Big Ten. He is the second MSU player this season to garner Walter Camp Defensive Player of the Week honors, joining defensive end Shilique Calhoun (September 9).  Allen is the third Spartan overall to earn the honor since 2004.

About the Award: This is the 10th year that the Walter Camp Football Foundation will honor one offensive and one defensive player as its national Football Bowl Subdivision player of the week during the regular season. Recipients are selected by a panel of national media members and administered by the Foundation.
