Nebraska's Abdullah and Wisconsin's Gordon Named Doak Walker Award Semifinalists

Nebraska's Ameer Abdullah and Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon were named semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award, given annually to the nation's top running back. Abdullah leads the Big Ten and ranks sixth nationally in rushing average at 134.8 yards per game, while Gordon ranks second in the league and eighth nationally at 128.9 yards per game. Six Big Ten players have earned the Doak Walker Award, including last year's honoree in the Badgers' Montee Ball.
