The Big Ten led all conference with four players being named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Oscar Robertson Trophy Preseason Watch List, presented annually to the national player of the year. Michigan's Mitch McGary, Michigan State's Gary Harris and Adreian Payne and Ohio State's Aaron Craft were all named to the preseason list, which was released on Tuesday afternoon.

McGary was named a first-team All-Big Ten preseason honoree in conjunction with Big Ten Basketball media day last week. He became a regular frontcourt starter during the 2013 NCAA Tournament, averaging a double-double during the Wolverines' run to the Final Four.

Harris was tabbed the preseason Big Ten Player of the Year and a first-team All-Big Ten selection. The sophomore guard was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year last season and also collected second-team and All-Freshman team honors in helping the Spartans reach the Sweet 16 for the fifth time in the last six seasons.

Payne claimed first-team All-Big Ten preseason honors after earning second-team All-Big Ten plaudits from the conference's coaches and media in 2012-13. He was among the Big Ten leaders in free-throw percentage (1st, .848), rebounding (3rd, 7.6 rpg) field-goal percentage (6th, .546) and blocked shots (7th, 1.3 bpg) last season.

Craft, who also picked up first-team All-Big Ten preseason honors, was named an All-Big Ten first team performer by the conference's media voters last season. He led Ohio State to the West Regional final, and enters the 2013-14 season as the Big Ten's career active leader in assists (530).

Michigan's Trey Burke won the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Year award last season. He was selected in the first-round of the 2013 NBA Draft and is in the midst of his rookie season with the Utah Jazz.
