Nebraska's Shavon Shields, Northwestern's Drew Crawford and Dave Sobolewski and Ohio State's Aaron Craft were all named CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District on Thursday. Craft, Crawford and Sobolewski were named to the Academic All-District 5 Team, while Sheilds was recognized by District 7.

Shields ranks 26th in the Big Ten in scoring at 11.0 points per game, and is the Cornhuskers' second leading scorer. He is also averaging 5.7 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 42 percent (.417) from the field. The sophomore forward from Olathe, Kan., is majoring in microbiology.

Crawford, a 2011-12 Academic All-American, graduated last spring with a degree in Economics. The Naperville, Ill., native is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a nominee for the 2013-14 Allstate Good Works Team. Crawford is averaging 16.2 points per game this season, and is coming off a 30-point performance in a win at Wisconsin on Wednesday.

Sobolewski is in his third season at Northwestern. The 2012-13 Academic All-Big Ten selection is studying Economics at Northwestern. The captain leads the team with 3.2 assists per game this season. He is also averaging 6.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in 17 appearances.

Craft was named the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America of the Year and was a first-team Academic All-American in 2012 and 2013. He picked up first-team All-Big Ten honors from the conference's head coaches last season, and was a second-team All-Big Ten honoree per the media contingent. Craft became Ohio State's all-time assist leader earlier this season, and is third on the Big Ten career steals list. He currently leads the Big Ten in steals per game (2.4).

To be selected for the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must maintain a grade point average of 3.3 or higher in both undergraduate and graduate work.
