Michigan's Nicole Elmblad was named to the Capital One Academic All-District first team on Thursday. With her selection to the first team, she is now eligible for the national ballot. A Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2012 and a biopsychology, cognition and neuroscience major, Elmblad has started all 21 games for the Wolverines this season. She has recorded six double-doubles and is averaging 12.4 points and 8.1 rebounds in 36.5 minutes per game. Elmblad leads the Big Ten and U-M in minutes played, while pacing the Wolverines in steals (30) and ranking second in rebounds (170) and assists (68). The lefty is also Michigan's captain and has set career highs in every statistical category this season.
