Northwestern took down No. 21/20 Purdue, 71-68, Thursday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena in the Wildcats' first Big Ten home contest of the year. Despite trailing by as many as 11 points in the first half, the Wildcats used a strong second half to knock off their second ranked opponent of the season and improve to 11-4 on the year, 1-1 in the conference. The #15/14 Penn State Lady Lions rallied from a 12-point first half deficit with a strong second frame on the way to an 82-76 win at Illinois Thursday. Senior Ariel Edwards posted her second career double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while freshman Peyton Whitted nearly had the first double-double of her career with a personal-bests bests of nine tallies and 10 boards.
