Two Big Ten Student-Athletes Earn Soccer America MVP Honors

Soccer America announced its 2013 Men's Soccer MVPs on Wednesday, with Wisconsin's AJ Cochran and Michigan State's Kevin Cope earning honors. Cochran, the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, was named to the first team after leading a backline that held opposing offenses to 1.29 goals per game. Starting all 21 matches, he scored three goals and was a first-team All-Big Ten selection. Cope was named to the second team after contributing to a backline that helped the Spartans lead the Big Ten in fewest goals allowed (17). He scored two goals and collected two assists in helping lead Michigan State to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
