Joe Cox and Matt Berry each had a goal and an assist as the Michigan State hockey team topped Penn State, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at Pegula Ice Arena in University Park, Pa. Berry broke a 1-1 tie with 5:04 to play in the third when he batted home a rebound to put MSU in front for good, 2-1. The Spartans (9-13-7, 3-5-6-4) were limited to just 13 shots in the game, while goaltender Jake Hildebrand made 28 saves at the other end, including several key stops early in the third with the game tied at one. Freshman Hudson Fasching recorded a goal and an assist while fellow freshman Vinni Lettieri and junior Kyle Rau picked up a pair of assists to lead No. 2/2 Minnesota to a 4-1 victory over No. 10/11 Michigan Saturday night at Mariucci Arena. Sophomore goalie Adam Wilcox tallied 28 saves as the Gophers swept the Wolverines in a two-game series for the first time since Dec. 5-6, 1986. RECAP

Senior Mark Zengerle notched two goals and freshman Nic Kerdiles added a goal and an assist as No. 8/8 Wisconsin earned a series split with a 4-2 win over Ohio State Saturday night at Value City Arena. Junior goalie Joel Rumpel recorded 28 saves for the Badgers, who remain in second place in the Big Ten standings, seven points behind first-place Minnesota. RECAP
