Michigan's John Beilein was named the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) District 7 Coach of the Year on Thursday. Beilein guided Michigan to its first outright Big Ten title since 1986, the top seed in the Big Ten Tournament and into the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for the second straight year.

Beilein picked up his 700th career coaching victory in the Wolverines' second round NCAA Tournament win against Wofford. Michigan is one of just five schools, along with Arizona, Florida, Louisville and Michigan State, to reach the Sweet 16 in each of the past two seasons.

Beilein was also named Big Ten Coach of the Year by the media and the USBWA District V Coach of the Year. On March 20, he was also named one of five finalists for the Naismith Men's College Coach of the Year Award by the Atlanta Tip-Off Club.

Michigan will take on No. 11 seed Tennessee in the Sweet 16 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis Friday beginning at 7:15 p.m. ET.
