Northwestern 6, Ohio State 2
Northwestern used a second-straight strong pitching performance and a handful of timely hits to secure a series victory over Ohio State Friday with a resounding 6-2 win at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. In total, the Wildcats drove in five runs with two outs for the second game in a row as they took a series from the Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio for the first time since 1989. The Wildcats registered double-digit hits for the second game in a row, recording 10 in Friday's victory. Heelan notched three hits for the fourth time this season, while driving in a career-high four runs at the plate. Hoscheit collected a career-high three hits and Mitchell drove in two runs for the second day in a row. RECAP

Michigan State 4, Penn State 2 (Game 1), Michigan State 4, Penn State 1 (Game 2)
The Michigan State baseball team traveled to Penn State needing just one victory in its final regular season series to clinch a spot in next week's Big Ten Tournament. The Spartans got what they came for on Friday, sweeping both games of a doubleheader by scores of 4-2 and 4-1 at PSU's Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Spartans (28-24, 10-13) took game one behind a strong outing from starting pitcher Mick VanVossen, who held Penn State scoreless in his 7 2/3 innings of work, allowing five hits. He struck out five batters in earning his seventh win of the season. Ryan Richardson sparked the Spartan offense in game one, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a pair of stolen bases. Joel Fisher and Blaise Salter both had a pair of RBIs in game two, while starting pitcher Justin Alleman yielded just one run in seven complete innings. Jeff Kinley picked up saves in both games, giving him 11 on the season. RECAP

Illinois 5, Nebraska 1
Sophomore Kevin Duchene looked back to his old form on Friday night, helping Illinois even the series with Nebraska and move back into a tie for second place in the Big Ten with a 5-1 victory. Duchene (3-1) earned his first win since March 14 and retired 14 in a row at one point while only allowing one run in six innings. Sophomore Adam Walton went 3-for-4 and belted his first career home run to put the Illini in front. Illinois (31-18) earned its best Big Ten record under Hartleb at 17-6, marking the most conference wins for Illinois since 2005 (20). The Illini improved to 10-1 on the road in Big Ten play this year, setting up the rubber game on Saturday at Hawks Field. RECAP

Indiana 7, Minnesota 3
The eighth ranked Indiana baseball team (37-13, 20-3 Big Ten) recorded a 7-3 victory over Minnesota at Bart Kaufman Field, clinching the Big Ten regular season title outright. It is the second straight season the Hoosiers have won the regular season title outright. The Hoosiers have won 25 of the last 28 games and are now 36-5 all-time at Bart Kaufman Field since it opened to start the 2013 season. Nick Ramos was 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scores while Dustin DeMuth picked up two more hits - giving him 304 in his career to lead all active NCAA baseball players - and drove in a run. Will Nolden drew three walks and scored a pair of runs as well. Christian Morris (5-3) earned the win on the mound, allowing one unearned run on four hits over 5.1 innings and fanning five. He also lowered his season ERA to 1.85 in the process. RECAP
