Indiana's Kyle Schwarber and Purdue's Sean McHugh were named semifinalists for one or more national awards on Thursday. Schwarber was named a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, which goes to the top player in college baseball, while he and McHugh appeared on the list of 15 semifinalists for the Johnny Bench Award, given annually to the nation's top catcher. Schwarber is hitting .347 with 10 home runs and 34 RBI while committing just three errors defensively for a field percentage of .990. He has also thrown out 12 out of 35 base runners attempting to steal a base. McHugh is batting .302 with four home runs and 27 RBI and has thrown out 24 of 48 base stealers on the year.
