Illinois' Brian Campbell is set to compete in the 2014 U.S. Open at Pinehurst. Campbell qualified for the U.S. Open by tying for fourth at the Daly City, California, sectional qualifier on June 2. He is coming off an impressive junior season in which he earned All-America honors - the first of his career - by tying for ninth at the 2014 NCAA Championships, including a final-round 63 that tied the course record at Prairie Dunes (at the configuration used for the NCAA Championships). He also was named the 2014 Big Ten Player of the Year and broke Luke Guthrie's single-season stroke average record with a 71.08 mark.
