Purdue baseball's all-freshman battery of Jordan Minch and Jack Picchiotti led the way as the Boilermakers won their Big Ten series opener against Northwestern Friday evening, 13-4, posting their first victory at Alexander Field in the process. RECAP

Wright State 7, PENN STATE 4 (11)
Penn State nearly completed a comeback victory over Wright State Friday, but fell short in the 11th inning for a 7-4 loss. The Nittany Lions moves to a 5-20 overall record following the non-conference contest, while the Raiders improve to 11-15 on the season. RECAP

Mike Lutz worked 4 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to finish off the game and offensively Purdue baseball took advantage of a number of Penn State miscues on a rainy day at the ballpark, finishing off a three-game series sweep with a 7-5 victory Sunday afternoon. RECAP

NEBRASKA 8, NORTHWESTERN 6
The Nebraska baseball team (11-15) improved to 5-1 in Big Ten play with an 8-6 win on Sunday afternoon at Hawks Field, completing a three-game sweep of the Northwestern Wildcats (10-9, 2-4 Big Ten). RECAP

MICHIGAN STATE 7, OHIO STATE 2
Michigan State opened the Big Ten season with a series win over Ohio State after a 7-2 victory in the rubber-game on Sunday afternoon at Bill Davis Stadium. The Spartans (15-8, 2-1) got a complete game out of sophomore Mick VanVossen, the first of his career. He allowed seven hits and just two runs against the Buckeyes. RECAP

INDIANA 9, IOWA 6 (Game 1); INDIANA 6, IOWA 4 (Game 2)
Multiple schedule changes forced by inclement weather haven't interfered with Indiana's rhythm one iota, winners of a school-record 15 straight games after completing a doubleheader, series sweep at Iowa (9-13, 1-5 Big Ten). IU has not played a game on the originally set time and date since March 16th vs. UAB, a string of nine consecutive games on an altered schedule. The Hoosiers (22-3, 6-0) sit atop the Big Ten standings after two weeks of conference play and have won 20 of the last 21 games overall. RECAP

Oakland 6, ILLINOIS 3
Illinois came up short in its attempt at a four-game sweep of Oakland on Sunday, falling 6-3 to the Grizzlies in the series finale at Illinois Field. The Illini fell behind 5-0 early and were unable to complete the comeback, but still won the series 3-1 and have an overall record of 17-7. RECAP

Sean McHugh delivered a two-out RBI single to knock in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning, lifting Purdue baseball to a 5-4 victory at Penn State Saturday afternoon that clinched a weekend series win for the Boilermakers. RECAP

Indiana had 23 hits from 11 different Hoosiers against Iowa (9-11, 1-3) en route to extending their current winning streak to a school-record against Division-I teams, 13 games. The baker's dozen of consecutive victories is also the longest active streak in the country. RECAP

Illinois swept a doubleheader over Oakland on Saturday in a pair of very different games at Illinois Field. The Illini scored their most runs under head coach Dan Hartleb in a 21-8 victory in game one and followed it up with solid pitching in a 3-2 win over the Grizzlies in game two. After winning the first three games of the series, Illinois boasts an overall record of 17-6. RECAP

Michigan State used a four-run eighth inning to come from behind and top Ohio State, 8-7 on Friday night at Bill Davis Stadium. The Spartans (14-7, 1-0) extended their win streak to eight while earning their first win of the Big Ten season over Ohio State (15-7, 3-1). RECAP

Tom Windle threw 103 pitches for his fourth-straight complete game to lead the University of Minnesota baseball team to a 3-1 win over the University of Michigan, today, at Wilpon Complex in Ann Arbor, Mich. ILLINOIS 4, Oakland 0
Senior Kevin Johnson needed just 79 pitches to earn his third career complete-game shutout in Illinois' 4-0 victory over Oakland on Friday night. The Midlothian, Ill., native only allowed three hits and worked quickly in the series opener, dispatching the Golden Grizzlies in one hour and 43 minutes, the Illini's shortest game this season. The Orange and Blue scored three runs in the first inning, including senior Justin Parr's first home run of the year, and improved to 15-6 overall. RECAP
