MSCR: Game One Underway

The Big Ten Men's Soccer Tournament has begun in University Park, Pa., with No. 3 Michigan taking on No. 6 Michigan State in the first match of the day. Game two, featuring No. 2 Ohio State against No. 7 Wisconsin, is scheduled for approximately 2:30 p.m. ET with game three, featuring No. 4 Penn State versus No. 5 Northwestern following at 5 p.m. ET.

MSCR: Opening Round Game Times Changed for Big Ten Tournament

The Big Ten Men's Soccer Tournament opening round games have been pushed back two hours, beginning Thursday at Noon ET at Jeffrey Field on the campus of Penn State.

No. 3 Michigan will take on No. 6 Michigan State at Noon ET to kick off the tournament, followed by No. 2 Ohio State versus No. 7 Wisconsin at approximately 2:30 p.m. ET and No. 4 Penn State versus No. 5 Northwestern at approximately 5 p.m. ET.

Friday's semifinals will take place at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. ET and Sunday's final will be played at Noon ET as previously scheduled. The semifinal and championship matches will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.

MSCR: 2010 Big Ten Tournament Preview

All seven Big Ten men's soccer teams are set to make the trek to University Park, Pa., this weekend to square off for conference supremacy at the 2010 Big Ten Tournament. The opening round of the tournament will take place on Thursday, with the semifinals being played on Friday and the title match following on Sunday.

Michigan's Soony Saad and Wisconsin's Max Jentsch have been named the Big Ten men's soccer Players of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. Saad earns Offensive Player of the Week laurels and Jentsch takes home Defensive Player of the Week honors.

MSCR: Weekend Recap

The final weekend of Big Ten men's soccer regular-season action came and went with Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio State emerging victorious. The Wolverines and Buckeyes remained tied for second in the conference standings after the weekend, but because of a 1-0 Ohio State win over Michigan on Sept. 25, the Buckeyes earned the No. 2 seed in next weekend's Big Ten Tournament.

MSCR: Big Ten Tournament Bracket Announced

The pairings for the 2010 Big Ten Men's Soccer Tournament have been announced, with conference champion Indiana taking the top seed. The tournament, hosted by Penn State, will feature three opening round games on Thursday, followed by two semifinal games on Friday. The championship game will take place on Sunday at Noon ET, with the winner earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.

Big Ten men's soccer enters its final weekend of regular season play tonight, with all seven conference teams competing in their final matches before next weekend's Big Ten Tournament. Michigan State heads to Milwaukee for a non-conference match, while Northwestern hosts Michigan and Wisconsin welcomes No. 22 Penn State to round out Saturday's slate. Sunday's lone match features Big Ten Champion Indiana visiting Ohio State for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

MSCR: Five Named to Academic All-District Teams

Five Big Ten men's soccer student-athletes have recognition for their work in the classroom, earning CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District status. Indiana's Tyler Carroll, Michigan State's Jeff Ricondo and Penn State's Andy Parr all earned first-team status in their respective regions, while the Nittany Lions' Andres Casais and Drew Cost received second-team honors.

After being named First Team Academic All-District, Carroll, Ricondo and Parr are eligible for Academic All-America honors.

MSCR: In the Polls

Penn State is the lone Big Ten men's soccer team to appear in this week's NSCAA/HendrickCars.com national rankings, checking in at No. 22. The Nittany Lions (10-5-1 overall, 2-2-1 Big Ten) jumped into the top 25 after receiving votes last week. Indiana (9-5-2, 4-0-1) and Michigan State (11-5-0, 2-4-0) are receiving votes in the latest poll.
