WSCR: In the Polls

Minnesota and Illinois have cracked the top 25 in this week's NSCAA/HendrickCars.com National women's soccer Poll after receiving votes in last week's rankings. After extending their unbeaten streak to nine games last weekend, the Gophers (8-1-1) jumped to No. 18 in the poll. The Illini (7-1-0) move to No. 20 after taking down then-No. 23 Louisville on Sunday.

WSCR: Big Ten Weekly Awards Announced

Illinois' Krystin Miller, Minnesota's Steph Brandt and Wisconsin's Michelle Dalton and Laurie Nosbusch have been selected as the Big Ten women's soccer Players of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. Nosbusch earns the nod for Offensive Player of the Week, while Miller and Dalton have been tabbed Co-Defensive Players of the Week, and Brandt takes home Freshman of the Week honors.

WSCR: Big Ten Weekly Award Winners Announced

The Big Ten has tabbed Illinois' Vanessa DiBernardo, Ohio State's Caitlyn Martin and Michigan State's Jill Flietstra as its weekly women's soccer award winners. DiBernardo and Martin earn Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Flietstra takes home Defensive Player of the Week laurels. DiBernardo also earns the nod for Freshman of the Week.

Minnesota and Ohio State earned the Big Ten women's soccer weekly awards for games of Aug. 30 - Sept. 5, the conference office announced on Monday. Minnesota midfielder Molly Rouse takes home Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Gopher goalkeeper Cat Parkhill earns Defensive Player of the Week laurels. Ohio State's Rachel Middleman earns her first career weekly award, receiving the nod for Freshman of the Week.

Penn State (1-1-1) is the lone Big Ten women's soccer team to appear in this week's NSCAA/HendrickCars.com national rankings, holding the No. 16 spot in the poll. Six other teams received votes in the poll, as Northwestern (2-0-1), Ohio State (2-1-1), Michigan State (2-1-0), Wisconsin (0-2-0), Minnesota (2-1-0) and Illinois (3-0-0) sit just outside of the top 25.

WSCR: Big Ten Weekly Awards Announced

Illinois' Vanessa DiBernardo, Northwestern's Carolyn Edwards and Ohio State's Lauren Granberg have been awarded the Big Ten women's soccer weekly honors, the conference office announced on Monday.

Granberg earns the nod for Offensive Player of the Week after tallying two goals in Ohio State's 3-1 win over West Virginia. Edwards receives Defensive Player of the Week honors after posting back-to-back shutouts, while DiBernardo earns Freshman of the Week recognition after scoring two goals last week.
