Illinois and Ohio State remain the lone Big Ten women's soccer teams ranked in the NSCAA/HendrickCars.com national rankings for the second week in a row. The Fighting Illini (12-4-1 overall, 5-3-1 Big Ten) hold strong at No. 16 for the second straight week, while the Buckeyes (13-4-1, 7-2-0) check in at No. 23. Four Big Ten teams sit right outside of the top 25, as conference leader Wisconsin (10-4-4, 7-1-2), Minnesota (11-5-3, 3-4-2), Michigan (10-3-4, 5-2-2) and Penn State (9-8-1, 7-2-0) are all receiving votes in the latest poll.

Big Ten women's soccer saw a new team take the top spot in the standings over Halloween weekend, as Wisconsin's win over Northwestern on Monday night gave the Badgers the conference lead heading into the final week of play. After No. 18 Ohio State fell to Indiana on Sunday and Penn State won back-to-back matches over the weekend, the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions share second place. Michigan also won both of its contests, defeating Iowa and No. 16 Illinois.

Michigan State's Elizabeth Watza and Penn State's Tani Costa have been named the Big Ten women's soccer Players of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. Costa earns Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week accolades, while Watza reels in Defensive Player of the Week laurels.

WSCR: Weekend Schedule

The 2010 Big Ten women's soccer Champion could be decided this weekend, with No. 18 Ohio State needing one win to seal at least a share of the conference title. The Buckeyes travel to Indiana on Sunday for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Ohio State can clinch the outright championship if Penn State loses either of its matches this weekend. The Nittany Lions host the Hoosiers on Thursday night and travel to Purdue on Sunday.

Penn State's Emma Thomson and Hayley Brock and Wisconsin's Laurie Nosbusch have been named the Big Ten women's soccer Players of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. Nosbusch takes home Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Thomson earns Defensive Player of the Week laurels and Brock receives the nod for Freshman of the Week.

Despite falling to No. 13 Illinois on Thursday, No. 17 Ohio State remain on top of the Big Ten women's soccer standings after last weekend's action. The Buckeyes hold a slight lead over Wisconsin after earning a 2-1 win over Purdue on Sunday. The Badgers narrowed the gap between first and second place in the standings to one point with wins over Michigan State and Michigan over the weekend. Penn State kept pace, defeating Illinois in its lone match of the weekend to take over third place.

With just three weeks of conference competition remaining, the Big Ten women's soccer title race is beginning to take shape. No. 17 Ohio State enters the weekend as the conference leader, sitting at 6-0-0. The Buckeyes host No. 13 Illinois on Thursday before heading to Purdue on Sunday. The Illini currently sit in a tie for fourth with Michigan State at 3-1-1 and round out their weekend with a crucial match against Penn State on Sunday. The Nittany Lions hold third place at 4-2-0.

Wisconsin currently sits in second at 4-1-2, trailing Ohio State by four points entering the weekend. The Badgers host Michigan State on Friday before welcoming sixth-place Michigan on Sunday.
