The Golden Gophers (9-2-2 overall, 1-1-1 Big Ten) check in at No. 16, while the Fighting Illini (9-2-0, 2-1-0) move up four spots from last week's ranking, sitting at No. 17. Ohio State (8-2-1, 2-0-0) is receiving votes.

The Big Ten has announced its women's soccer Players of the Week, with Illinois' Vanessa DiBernardo, Michigan State's Jill Flietstra and Wisconsin's Michele Dalton taking home the honors. DiBernardo earns Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week laurels while Flietstra and Dalton receive Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Week two of women's soccer Big Ten play concluded on Sunday, with three teams reeling off back-to-back wins over the course of the week. Wisconsin defeated No. 15 Minnesota and Iowa to jump to the top of the conference standings while No. 21 Illinois continued its winning ways with victories over Purdue and Indiana. Michigan State also finished the week at 2-0-0.

Minnesota's MacKenzie Misel, Ohio State's Paige Maxwell, Purdue's Carianne Betts and Wisconsin's Michele Dalton have been tabbed the Big Ten women's soccer Players of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. Maxwell receives Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Betts and Dalton take home Co-Defensive Player of the Week accolades and Misel earns the nod for Freshman of the Week.

Big Ten women's soccer completed its first week of conference play on Sunday, with five teams finishing without a tally in the loss column. Minnesota, Wisconsin and Purdue each notched a win and a tie, while Ohio State and Penn State earned wins in their lone contests of the week.

Conference play begins for Big Ten women's soccer tonight as Iowa hosts No. 18 Minnesota at 7 p.m. CT. Action continues on Friday, with Purdue hosting Wisconsin and Indiana taking on Northwestern.
The weekend wraps up on Sunday with No. 20 Illinois heading north to face Minnesota, Wisconsin traveling to Indiana, Iowa hosting St. Louis, Michigan State visiting Penn State and Michigan hosting Ohio State.
