This Is It

The weekend tilt begins on Friday with a pivotal conference showdown as Indiana takes on No. 25-ranked Penn State in a 3 p.m. contest on IU's Bloomington campus. The Nittany Lions currently occupy the top spot in the conference standings, sitting one point ahead of Ohio State and Wisconsin, who are tied in second place with nine points apiece. With a win over the Hoosiers, PSU could clinch the regular season title and secure the No. 1 seed in next week's Big Ten Tournament.

The regular season wraps up on Saturday with two Big Ten matchups, both slated for a 6 p.m. ET start time. OSU welcomes border-rival Michigan in a game to be televised live on the Big Ten Network, while No. 17-rated Northwestern plays host to Michigan State with huge postseason implications weighing in the balance.

Even with a setback against the Hoosiers, Penn State could still clinch at least a share of the regular season championship if the Wolverines oust the Buckeyes and fourth-place Northwestern ties or falls to the Spartans on Saturday. Wisconsin has already completed its conference schedule, and will finish the regular season slate with a 3-3-0 ledger against Big Ten foes.

All for the Taking

Only five matchups remain as Big Ten women's soccer enters the final stretch of regular season play with the conference crown on the line, not to mention an automatic bid to this year's NCAA Championship. In its first year without a postseason tournament, The Big Ten regular-season champion will earn the coveted berth in the NCAA Tournament. Penn State currently sits in a tie for first place with Ohio State atop the Big Ten standings with one game left for each contender.

Rating No. 11 in the latest NSCAA/adidas poll, the Buckeyes will journey to Michigan State for a 3 p.m. showdown on Friday evening. A win in East Lansing will earn the Scarlet and Gray at least a share of the Big Ten title.

The No.22-ranked Nittany Lions look to wrap up their conference season on Sunday against Michigan, with kick off scheduled for Noon ET. Depending on Friday's results between OSU and MSU, a win over the Wolverines will give PSU at least a share of the Big Ten title for the 12-conseuctive season.

If both games have the same result, yielding a tie atop the standings, Penn State will earn the automatic bid the NCAA Tournament by virtue of its head-to-head 2-1 win over the Buckeyes earlier in the season on Oct. 4. .
