Thirteen Big Ten student-athletes have been named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America At-Large Team, as announced on Thursday. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30, have sophomore eligibility and be nominated by his or her sports information director. 2012 Big Ten Field Hockey Season in Review

The Big Ten enjoyed a successful 2012 field hockey season highlighted by three teams earning bids to the NCAA Field Hockey Championship. Penn State captured its first Big Ten Championship since 2008 and earned the conference's automatic berth after winning the Big Ten Tournament. Iowa and Michigan joined the Nittany Lions in the 16-team field, marking the 12th-straight season the conference has sent three or more teams to the national tournament.

Where We Rank: Four Big Ten field hockey teams appeared in the final Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll, including three top-10 teams. Penn State sits at No. 3, followed by No. 9 Michigan, No. 10 Northwestern and No. 14 Iowa. For the complete poll, click HERE.

B1G Postseason Awards: The Big Ten Conference announced its 2012 field hockey All-Big Ten teams and individual award winners on Nov. 1, with Northwestern and Penn State collecting individual honors. The Nittany Lions' took home three individual awards, as Kelsey Amy was named Offensive Player of the Year, Brittany Grzywacz took home Defensive Player of the Year honors and Charlene Morett was named Coach of the Year.
