Iowa 72, Minnesota 51
Take away the first eight minutes, and Sunday's 72-51 victory over Minnesota for the University of Iowa men's basketball team would have been pure domination. The Gophers landed the first punch, jumping out to a 12-4 lead over the first four minutes before stretching its advantage to 21-5 courtesy of three free throws by Austin Hollins at the 12:57 mark. The Gophers made 6-of-9 shots to start the game and were 9-of-9 from the free throw stripe. "Rarely do you get down by 15 and win by 20," said UI head coach Fran McCaffery. "Our team could have wilted (when we were down early). We haven't shown that we're going to do that any time at all this year." RECAP

Michigan 79, Penn State 71
Sophomore guard Trey Burke scored a season-high 29 points, and freshman guard Glenn Robinson III recorded his second career double-double with 21 points (6-for-6) and 10 rebounds as the University of Michigan men's basketball team (No. 4 AP, No. 5 ESPN/USA Today) defeated Penn State, 79-71, on Sunday inside Crisler Center. Also scoring in double digits for U-M was freshman guard Nik Stauskas with 18 points. The Wolverines shot 23-of-49 (47 percent) from the floor and 27-of-35 (77 percent) from the free throw line in the game, while the Nittany Lions converted 25-of-57 (44 percent) from the field but only made 15-of-17 (88 percent) from the charity stripe. Wisconsin 71, Ohio State 49
After three straight overtime games, Wisconsin made sure it would need only 40 minutes to outlast 13th-ranked Ohio State on Sunday at the Kohl Center. In reality, the Badgers probably didn't need the full 40 minutes cruising to a 71-49 win over the Buckeyes. No. 20 Wisconsin (18-8, 9-4 Big Ten) shot a season-best 53 percent in what was a dramatic turnaround offensively for the Badgers, who went scoreless over the final five minutes in a loss at Minnesota on Thursday. Ben Brust and Jared Berggren tallied 15 points apiece for the Badgers, as freshman Sam Dekker chipped in 13. Brust added 11 rebounds for his fifth career double-double, while sophomore Traevon Jackson rounded out the double-figure scoring with 10 points for UW. RECAP

Illinois 62, Northwestern 41
D.J. Richardson scored 18 points to lead Illinois to a 62-41 victory over Northwestern on Sunday night. Tracy Abrams added 13 points off the bench for the Illini (19-8, 6-7 Big Ten), who have won four straight. Reggie Hearn led Northwestern with 11 points. The Wildcats (13-13, 4-9) have lost three straight and five of their last six. Illinois scored the first 16 points of the second half after ending the first half on a 10-0 run. Richardson's layup extended Illinois' lead to 45-15 with 13:53 remaining. James Montgomery scored Northwestern's first points of the half on a layup with 13:26 left. Northwestern shot 25 percent from the field and Illinois shot 43.6 percent. RECAP

Indiana 83, Purdue 55
Now that Indiana (23-3, 11-2) has bucked the trend of No. 1 teams losing, it can stop worrying about votes and start focusing on more important things like the Big Ten title chase. Will Sheehey scored a career-high 22 points, set a new school record by going 9 for 9 from the field and led the Hoosiers to an 83-55 victory that was never really close. Last week, the Hoosiers got a reprieve after losing at Illinois before winning at No. 10 Ohio State. They held onto the top spot only after the next four highest-ranked teams all lost, too. But Saturday's win assured the Hoosiers of hanging onto at least a share of the league lead as they head into Tuesday night's showdown with No. 8 Michigan State. The Spartans faced Nebraska later Saturday. RECAP

Michigan State 73, Nebraska 64
Keith Appling scored 16 points to go over 1,000 for his career and Adreian Payne added 15 points and 14 rebounds in eighth-ranked Michigan State's 73-64 victory over Nebraska on Saturday night. The win allowed Michigan State (22-4, 11-2) to remain tied with Indiana for first place in the Big Ten. The Cornhuskers (12-14, 3-10), who have lost seven straight against opponents ranked in the top 10, never led but were within a point with 14 minutes left. The Spartans put away their fifth straight win with a 20-6 run. Michigan State blocked a season-high 12 shots, with Branden Dawson matching his career high with four swats. RECAP

Deshaun Thomas scored 22 points and No. 13 Ohio State used a late 12-0 run to beat Northwestern 69-59 on Thursday night, the Buckeyes' 32nd consecutive home win against the Wildcats. Lenzelle Smith Jr. added 12 points - all in the first half - with Sam Thompson adding 11 and Amir Williams a career-high 10 for the Buckeyes (18-6, 8-4 Big Ten). Pesky Northwestern (13-12, 4-8) led throughout the second half despite having only seven scholarship players due to injuries. Tre Demps led the Wildcats with 16 points, Reggie Hearn had 12 and Dave Sobolewski 10. RECAP

Minnesota 58, #20/19 Wisconsin 53 (OT)
Andre Hollins hit the go-ahead 3-pointer midway through overtime to finish with 21 points and lead Minnesota to a 58-53 victory over No. 20 Wisconsin on Thursday night. It was third straight game Wisconsin went to overtime. Austin Hollins added 11 points for the Gophers (18-7, 6-6 Big Ten), who held the Badgers without a basket for about 11 minutes until Jared Berggren's putback with 10 seconds left in the extra period. Hollins went 4 for 4 from the free throw line over the final 18 seconds of overtime to seal it. RECAP

Iowa 74, Penn State 72
Junior Roy Devyn Marble's 22 point performance helped the University of Iowa men's basketball hold off a feisty Penn State charge, as the Hawkeyes downed the Nittany Lions, 74-72, on Thursday night in the Bryce Jordan Center. It was Iowa's first win in Happy Valley since 2006. "We knew this wasn't going to be easy," said Marble. "They were sticking with us, and we just had to keep fighting. I told the guys we had to grind this out. We didn't want to go home with that bad taste like we did the last 3-4 games on the road. We just dug in." RECAP

#1/2 Indiana 76, Nebraska 47
Cody Zeller scored 16 points and Christian Watford finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds to help No. 1/2 Indiana pull away from Nebraska 76-47 on Wednesday night. The Hoosiers (22-3, 10-2 Big Ten) have won seven of eight and regained a share of the league lead. They are tied with Michigan State. But it sure wasn't easy against Nebraska (12-13, 3-9), which frustrated Indiana by limiting possessions and repeatedly taking the shot clock inside of 10 seconds in the first half. Dylan Talley scored 10 of his 16 points in the first half to lead the Cornhuskers. Indiana took charge after Zeller went to the bench with his second foul midway through the first half. It used a 10-0 run to take a 21-14 lead and closed the half on a 6-0 run to make it 27-18, then opened the second half on another 6-0 run. RECAP

Illinois 79, Purdue 59
D.J. Richardson scored 18 points and Illinois opened up a big first-half lead that buried Purdue 79-59 on Wednesday night. The win was the third straight for Illinois (18-8, 5-7 Big Ten), which is clawing its way back into the postseason picture. The other wins were resume-builders over No. 1 Indiana and then-No. 18 Minnesota. A dunk by Tyler Griffey with 8:46 remaining put Illinois up 64-46. The margin was too much for a Boilermakers team that had already tried to dig out of a 16-point first-half hole. Griffey scored 12 points and Joseph Bertrand had a career-high 12 rebounds. RECAP

Michigan State turned a highly anticipated, historic matchup into a showcase of what its proud program is capable of doing this season. Gary Harris scored 17 points and Derrick Nix had 14 to help the eighth-ranked Spartans rout No. 4 Michigan 75-52 on Tuesday night in the rivalry's first matchup of top 10 teams. ''It was the perfect storm,'' Michigan State coach Tom Izzo said. ''We played about as well as we can.'' The Spartans (21-4, 10-2 Big Ten) broke a first-place tie in the conference with No. 1 Indiana, which plays at Michigan State next Tuesday after the Spartans try to avoid a letdown Saturday night at Nebraska. Indiana 81, Ohio State 68
After a stunning loss, the Indiana Hoosiers were on a mission to reaffirm just how good they were. There was no questioning their ability Sunday. Victor Oladipo scored a career-high 26 points, Cody Zeller added 24 and Christian Watford 20 to lead No. 1 Indiana back from a demoralizing loss to a huge road win in beating No. 10 Ohio State 81-68 on Sunday. ''It was putting teams away, playing to win and not just playing for the time to run out,'' Zeller said of the lessons learned from an upset loss at Illinois on Thursday. ''So, we made that adjustment pretty well.'' RECAP

Illinois 57, Minnesota 53
Tyler Griffey capped a terrific week for Illinois with 16 points, and the Fighting Illini went 11 for 23 from 3-point range in a 57-53 win over No. 18 Minnesota on Sunday night. Three days after Griffey's buzzer-beating layup gave Illinois (17-8, 4-7) a 74-72 victory over No. 1 Indiana, Tracy Abrams swished a step-back 3-pointer with 18 seconds left to stretch the lead over Minnesota to four. Abrams came off the bench for the first time this season after failing to score against the Hoosiers. D.J. Richardson had 13 points and Brandon Paul added 10 points for the Illini, who ended a 10-game losing streak on the road against ranked Big Ten teams. Their last such win was three years ago at Wisconsin. RECAP
