The 2011 Big Ten Men's Golf Championships, hosted by Purdue University, are set to take place this weekend at Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. The first round of the championships is set for Friday at 8 a.m. ET, with the second round following at 1 p.m. Saturday's third round begins at 9 a.m. ET, while the final round is slated for 8 a.m. on Sunday.

Illinois' Luke Guthrie and Purdue's Adam Schenk have been named Big Ten Men's Co-Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday. Guthrie tied for first at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, while Schenk took medalist honors at the Boilermaker Invitational.

Iowa's Vince India and Purdue's William Sjaichudin have been named Big Ten Men's Co-Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday. India shared medalist honors at the Hawkeye-TaylorMade Invitational, while Sjaichudin took first place at the Illini Spring Classic.

The latest Golfweek/Sagarin men's golf top 50 rankings, released on Sunday night, feature four Big Ten teams. Illinois and Iowa lead the way, ranking 13th and 14th, respectively. Ohio State checks in at No. 32 nationally, while Indiana ranks 36th in the country. Iowa's Vince India and Illinois' Luke Guthrie and Scott Langley also appear in the individual top 50 nationally. India currently ranks seventh nationally, while Guthrie is the 26th-ranked golfer and Langley holds No. 50.

Illinois senior Scott Langley has been named a semifinalist for the Ben Hogan Award, given to the top college golfer in the country. Langley, the defending individual national champion, is one of 10 semifinalists for the award. The group will be narrowed down to three finalists on May 4, with the winner being announced on May 16 at the Hogan Award Banquet in Fort Worth, Texas.

David Erdy picks up Big Ten Men's Golfer of the Week laurels after pushing No. 34 Indiana to its third consecutive Hoosier Invitational title over the weekend. Erdy posted a 3-under 210 in the tournament, finishing just one stroke behind the leader.

Big Ten men's golf is again well-represented in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, as six conference teams appear in the national top 50. Illinois remains at No. 12 this week, while Iowa stands pat at No. 14. Ohio State moves up one spot to No. 22 in the latest rankings, followed by No. 35 Indiana, No. 41 Michigan and No. 43 Purdue. Three Big Ten golfers also appear in the individual top 50, led by No. 8 Vince India of Iowa. Illinois' Luke Guthrie and Scott Langley also appear in the rankings, with Guthrie holding No. 17 and Langley checking in at No. 43.
