Four Big Ten women's rowing teams are ranked in the latest CRCA/USRowing Coaches Poll, released on Wednesday. Ohio State leads ranked conference squads, coming in at No. 6, while Michigan follows at No. 7. Wisconsin checks in at No. 12 and Michigan State sits at No. 16. Iowa and Minnesota are both receiving votes in the poll.

Eight Big Ten student-athletes have been named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America Team, as announced on Thursday. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30, have sophomore eligibility and be nominated by his or her sports information director. All seven Big Ten rowing teams travel to Indianapolis, Ind., this weekend to compete in the 2012 Big Ten Rowing Championships at Eagle Creek Park. The teams take to the water beginning at 9 a.m. ET on Sunday, May 13, in a seven-lane, finals-only regatta.

Wisconsin leads all schools with three No. 1 seeds, holding the top boat in the I Novice Eight, II Novice Eight and II Varsity Four races. Defending champion Ohio State has No. 1 seeds in the I Varsity Four and the II Varsity Eight races, while Michigan claims the top seed in the I Varsity Eight race.

ROW: Seven Named CRCA All-Americans

Seven Big Ten rowers have earned CRCA Pocock All-America honors as announced on Friday. Big Ten Rower of the Year and Michigan State senior Laura Cowal earned first-team honors and was joined by Michigan's Felice Mueller on the first team.

Five conference rowers received second-team recognition as Michigan's Natalie Eisermann, Michigan State's Kellie Lapointe, Ohio State's Ulrike Denker and Claudia Schiwy, and Wisconsin's Vanessa Kleiss took home honors.
