ILLINOIS 4, MINNESOTA 3 Despite a two-hour rain delay at Siebert Field, Illinois clinched a spot
in next week's Big Ten Tournament with a 4-3 victory over Minnesota.
With losses by Michigan and Michigan State on Friday, the Illini moved
into sole possession of fourth place in the Big Ten at 14-9 following
their fifth consecutive win. The Illini bullpen only allowed two hits
over the final 4.1 innings, as reliever Drasen Johnson earned the win and closer Bryan Roberts notched his sixth save. RECAPINDIANA 7, OHIO STATE 2 For the first time since 1949, the Indiana Hoosiers (39-13, 16-7) have
won a share of the Big Ten Championship in baseball. In an epic game on
the road against fellow Big Ten title aspirant Ohio State (34-20,
15-8), the Hoosiers came from behind in the ninth inning to beat the
Buckeyes 7-2 in 10 innings. RECAPNEBRASKA 9, MICHIGAN 6 Nebraska
had its spot at the Big Ten Tournament secured before the start of
tonight's game following a loss by Michigan State, and with the 9-6 win
over the Michigan Wolverines in front of a season-high 5,503 fans at
Hawks field the Huskers locked up at minimum the No. 3 seed at the
conference tournament next week in Minneapolis, Minn., at Target Field.
RECAP PENN STATE 9, MICHIGAN STATE 0 Penn State tied up its final Big Ten series of the
season on Friday afternoon, shutting out Michigan State 9-0 at Medlar
Field at Lubrano Park. The Nittany Lions (14-35, 4-19 Big Ten) will
close out the three-game set, as well as the 2013 season, against the
Spartans (32-17, 11-9 Big Ten) tomorrow at 1:05 p.m. for Senior Day.
Penn State will honor its eight players and manager in a ceremony at the
commencement of the contest. RECAPIOWA 9, PURDUE 5 Four runs scored following sophomore Nick Day's
two-out, 10th inning double to lift the University of Iowa baseball
team to a 9-5 extra inning victory over Purdue on Friday night at
Alexander Field. RECAPNORTHWESTERN 5, Wichita State Northwestern starting pitcher Brandon Magallones
was sharp on the mound for seven innings, but the Wildcats offense was
handcuffed by Wichita State Friday night in a 5-0 loss at Eck Stadium in
Wichita, Kan.

ILLINOIS 6, MINNESOTA 2 Freshman Kevin Duchene
allowed two earned runs over six solid innings and improved to 8-1, as
the Illini won their fourth straight with a 6-2 victory over Minnesota
(29-19) at Siebert Field. Duchene matched John Kravetz ,
who went 8-3 last season, for the most wins ever by an Illini freshman
along with equaling the most victories by a Big Ten pitcher this season.
Illinois (32-15) remained tied with Michigan for fifth place in the
conference at 13-9 with two regular season games left. RECAPIOWA 2, PURDUE 1 Sophomore Anthony Torres
hit a go-ahead RBI single through the left side of the infield in the
top of the 11th inning, sending the University of Iowa baseball team to a
2-1 win over Purdue at Alexander Field. RECAPMICHIGAN 7, NEBRASKA 5 Michigan scored four runs in the top of
the seventh inning to come from behind and beat Nebraska, 7-5, on
Thursday night (May 16) at Haymarket Park. RECAPMICHIGAN STATE 16, PENN STATE 1 Michigan State baseball cruised to a 16-1 victory over Penn State on
Thursday night at Medlar Park. The Spartans (32-16, 11-8 Big Ten) had 12
hits in the game and seven different Spartans notched at least one RBI. RECAPOHIO STATE 2, INDIANA 1 Ohio State opened its series against No. 21 Indiana
with a 2-1 victory Thursday evening at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis
Stadium. With the win, the Buckeyes improve to 34-19, 15-7 in conference
play, while the Hoosiers drop to fall to 38-13, 15-7 in the Big Ten.
The teams are tied atop the Big Ten heading into the final two games of
the regular season. RECAP Wichita State 8, NORTHWESTERN 2 Northwestern was unable to generate the offense necessary to overcome a
steady attack put forth by Wichita State as the Wildcats dropped the
opener of a three-game set to the Shockers, 8-2, Thursday at Eck Stadium
in Wichita, Kan.

Six Big Ten women's rowing teams are receiving votes in the latest CRCA/USRowing Coaches Poll, released on Wednesday. Ohio State leads ranked conference squads, coming in at No. 3. Michigan and Wisconsin both stay put at No. 13 and No. 14, respectively, while Minnesota rounds out the poll at No. 20. Iowa and Michigan State are receiving votes.

ILLINOIS 5, PENN STATE 4 Illinois overcame a four-run deficit by scoring five runs in its final
three innings, capping off a 5-4 comeback win on Senior Day to complete
the sweep of Penn State. The Illini only had one hit in the first five
innings before turning it on late with a run in the sixth, three in the
seventh to tie it at four and the game-winning RBI single by
redshirt-sophomore Reid Roper in the eighth. RECAPMICHIGAN STATE 4, IOWA 2 Michigan State defeated Iowa on Mother's Day at Duane Banks
Field, 4-2. The Spartans (29-16, 10-8 Big Ten) got an outstanding
performance out of sophomore Mick VanVossen on the mound. He allowed just two runs, one earned in the win. Blaise Slater and Justin Hovis both notched RBIs for the Spartans.
RECAPNEBRASKA 8, MINNESOTA 0 Nebraska defeated Minnesota on Sunday afternoon at Siebert Field with a 8-0 win in the rubber match of the series. With the series win, the Huskers won all four of their Big Ten Conference road series, posting a 9-3 record in 12 conference road games. scored four times with two outs in the ninth inning thanks to big hits

ILLINOIS 8, PENN STATE 6 Illinois scored seven runs in the first three innings and held off a
Penn State comeback in an 8-6 victory in game two of the series on
Saturday. Freshman Ryan Castellanos pitched into the seventh and improved to 3-1, while junior Ronnie Muck
closed out the final two innings for his second save. The Illini
improved to 30-15 on the year, marking the fifth time they have reached
30 wins under head coach Dan Hartleb in eight seasons. NORTHWESTERN 12, INDIANA 1 Northwestern scored early and often Saturday afternoon and its starting
pitcher was magnificent on the hill as the Wildcats evened their series
with No. 14 Indiana with a 12-1 victory at Bart Kaufman Field in
Bloomington, Ind.
RECAPMICHIGAN 10, PURDUE 6 For the second straight day, Michigan broke a tie in the bottom of the eighth inning. This time, the
Wolverines put up five runs in that frame and went on to win 10-6 over
Purdue Saturday afternoon at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray
Fisher Stadium. RECAPIOWA 2, MICHIGAN STATE 1 Sophomore Sasha Kuebel threw eight strong innings and junior Bryan Niedbalski
delivered a go-ahead RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning to
lead the University of Iowa baseball team to a 2-1 victory over Michigan
State at Duane Banks Field. The victory clinched a series win for the Hawkeyes, their first
series win of the season. Iowa defeated Michigan State in the series
opener, 6-2, on Friday.
RECAPMINNESOTA 4, NEBRASKA 3 After a 6-0 loss to Nebraska on Friday, Minnesota tied up the series with a 4-3 victory over Cornhuskers,
today at Siebert Field. The Golden Gophers now stand at 29-17, 12-5 in
the Big Ten. With the win the Gophers return to the top of the Big Ten
standings after Indiana lost, 12-1 to Northwestern. Nebraska falls to
