OHIO STATE 7, ILLINOIS 3 Ohio State earned its second-consecutive series win
with a 7-3 Sunday victory over Illinois at Nick Swisher Field at Bill
Davis Stadium. With the win, the Buckeyes improve to 25-13 on the
season, 9-6 in Big Ten play, while the Illini fall to 24-12, 6-6 in the
conference. RECAP PENN STATE 7, IOWA 4 Winning its first Big Ten series of the season, Penn State posted a 7-4 victory over Iowa on Sunday afternoon, with sophomores J.C. Coban and Taylor Skerpon driving in four runs in the fifth inning for the edge. The
Nittany Lions improve to a 10-25 overall record with a 2-10 mark in
conference play, while the Hawkeyes move to 14-20 and 2-9. RECAP NEBRASKA 12, PURDUE 2 Nebraska defeated Purdue, 12-2, on Sunday afternoon, moving to .500 on the season. INDIANA 10, Butler 3 No. 19 Indiana swept its three-game series
against Butler with a 10-3 victory at Bulldog Park on Sunday
afternoon. IU took games one (12-2) and two (5-2) at home on Friday and
Saturday. The Hoosiers scored their first eight runs with two outs.
Returning to the lineup for the first time this week, sophomore Kyle
Schwarber served as designated hitter and went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. RECAP
OHIO STATE 7, ILLINOIS 6 Ohio State picked up a 7-6 walk-off win over Illinois
in 10 innings Saturday afternoon at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis
Stadium. Brad Hallberg lined a double into right-center to plate Greg Solomon
with the game-winning run to improve the Buckeyes to 24-13 on the
season, 8-6 in Big Ten play while the Illini fall to 24-11, 6-5 in the
conference. RECAPINDIANA 5, Butler 2 Southpaw Kyle Hart
improved to 6-0 and the Indiana baseball team moved to 28-8 with a 5-2
victory over Butler (17-17) at Bart Kaufman Field on Saturday. The
Hoosiers will look to sweep the three-game series at Bulldog Park in
Indianapolis at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Butler scored both of its runs in the first, but that is all Hart
would allow, as he retired 15 of the final 17 batters he faced. The
sophomore surrendered four hits, struck out six and did not walk a
batter in six innings.
RECAPNEBRASKA 10, PURDUE 2 (Game 1); NEBRASKA 10, PURDUE 4 (Game 2) Nebraska picked up his second doubleheader sweep of the week with a pair of wins over Purdue on Saturday at Alexander Field. After taking game one, 10-2, the Huskers rallied late with nine runs over the final two innings in the night cap to win 10-4. RECAPNORTHWESTERN 6, MICHIGAN 0 Luke Farrell helped Northwestern shutout Michigan, 6-0, on an unforgettable evening at
Wrigley Field.
Farrell matched a career high by going nine innings on the bump.
He retired the first 12 Wolverines he faced before a single to center
field broke up his no-hit bid in the fifth inning. The right-hander
finished with nine strikeouts and allowed just three hits in his second

ILLINOIS 9, OHIO STATE 2 Senior Kevin Johnson set a school record, and senior Justin Parr's
three-run triple put him closer to UI's hitting streak record in
Illinois' 9-2 win over Ohio State on Friday night. Johnson took a
no-hitter into the sixth inning and grabbed the top spot in school
history with 333 career innings pitched. Senior Justin Parr
extended his hitting streak to 22 games, as the Illini racked up
double-digit hits (14) for their fifth win in a row and allowed their
fewest hits on the year with two. RECAPINDIANA 12, Butler 2 Behind a 12-run, 17-hit attack, the No. 19 Indiana baseball team
(27-8) defeated Butler, 12-2, at Bart Kaufman Field on Friday evening in
the first of a three-game series. Sophomore Scott Donley
went 4-for-4 with two runs batted in, two runs scored and two doubles
hitting in the clean-up spot behind sophomore first baseman Sam Travis .
Travis blasted his sixth home run of the season and also added a pair
of doubles and RBI to go along with three runs in five at-bats.
