Nine Big Ten women's tennis teams again appear in the Campbell/ITA National Team Rankings, released on Thursday. Michigan leads the way, moving up one spot to No. 7 in the latest poll. Northwestern checks in at No. 23 to round out the conference teams in the top 25. Illinois holds No. 28 with No. 30 Iowa, No. 32 Ohio State, No. 44 Indiana, No. 52 Purdue, No. 71 Minnesota and No. 74 Wisconsin each taking spots in the national top 75.

WTEN: Michigan's Critser Named Athlete of the Week

Michigan's Sam Critser reels in her first Big Ten women's tennis Athlete of the Week award after helping the eighth-ranked Wolverines to back-to-back wins at ITA Kickoff Weekend. Critser won two singles matches, including one against the 10th-ranked player in the country.

Big Ten women's tennis boasts nine ranked teams in the ITA National Team Rankings, released on Tuesday. All nine teams began the season ranked in the top 75 and seven of the nine hold the same ranks as they did in the first poll. Michigan again leads the way at No. 8, while Northwestern checks in at No. 20 and Illinois maintains No. 25. Iowa (No. 30), Ohio State (No. 33), Indiana (No. 45) and Purdue (No. 50) each remain in the same spots in the latest rankings, while Minnesota moves up one to No. 71. Wisconsin checks in at No. 74 to round out the rankings.

WTEN: Minnesota's Pintusava Earns Weekly Honor

Minnesota freshman Natallia Pintusava earns Big Ten Athlete of the Week accolades after scoring three points, including a win at No. 1 singles against 27th-ranked Michaela Kissell of Marshall, for the Golden Gophers against the No. 53 Thundering Herd and Kentucky over the weekend.

WTEN: Michigan's Muresan Named Athlete of the Week

Michigan's Denise Muresan has been named Big Ten Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday. Muresan won the singles title, going 3-0 in singles matches, and won two doubles contests at the Michigan Invitational over the weekend.

WTEN: 2011 Season Opens This Weekend

Big Ten women's tennis begins play this weekend, with seven conference teams set to compete for the first time in 2011. The Big Ten dual-match season begins on Feb. 5 with Northwestern hosting Minnesota. The conference championships are set for April 28-May 1 at Michigan.
