The Big Ten Conference office announced on Wednesday the third weekly women's outdoor track and field awards for meets through March 24-31. Indiana's Sarah Pease and Illinois Aja Evans were named Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, after landing top-three spots on the national leaderboard last week.
Pease claimed top honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a school-record time of 10:05.67. The Indiana native finished nearly 40 seconds ahead of the field and owns the third-best time in Division I and fifth in the world this season.
Evans collects her second consecutive weekly honor of the 2010 campaign after finishing first in the shot put with a toss of 55-1 (16.79m) on Saturday at Tennessee's SeaRay Relays. Penn State maintained its position in the top-10, checking in at No. 7 while Illinois leaped three spots to appear at No. 24. The top five positions on both men's and women's sides of the national team rankings remained unchanged.

Greaves notched the highest Nittany Lion finish at the Florida Relays, earning second-place honors in the 100-meters with a time of 11.33 (+3.1w) before sprinting to a career-low 23.07 in the 200-meters -- the second-fastest performance in Penn State history and the second-best time in the NCAA this year.
Evans posted the best outdoor opener of her collegiate career, winning the shot put crown with a mark of 55-5 (16.89m) at the Mike Poehlein Invitational. Her mark ranks third-best in the country and is just shy of her own school record in the event. READ MORE ...
Engel claimed top honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Alabama Relays on Saturday, posting a time of 10:46.67. The mark is the fourth fastest in IU history and the 18th-best in Division I this season.
Robinson opened her outdoor season by sweeping the long jump and triple jump titles at the Florida State Relays. Her winning mark in the triple jump bettered the competition by more than 16 inches and ranks second in the nation at 42 feet, 6 inches (12.95m). READ MORE ...
