Purdue 76, Illinois 65 Courtney Moses scored 21 points, leading four Purdue players in double figures, and
the 25th-ranked Boilermakers defeated Illinois 76-65 on Sunday. Drey Mingo scored 18 and Sam Ostarello and KK Houser
had 12 points apiece. Ostarello had nine rebounds while Houser
contributed seven rebounds and eight assists for Purdue (21-8, 10-6 Big
Ten). It was the regular-season finale for both teams; the Big Ten

eight three-pointers en route to 34 points as the #7/7 Penn State Lady
Lions (24-4, 14-2 Big Ten) claimed the Big Ten regular-season title
outright with an 82-67 win over #20/25 Nebraska (22-7, 12-4) Sunday.
Penn State shot 69.2% from the field in the second half and connected on

Michigan State 68, Purdue 61
The Michigan State women's basketball team earned its first win over a
ranked opponent this season, in a critical 68-61 upset over No. 25/22
Purdue on Thursday night at Mackey Arena. Senior Jasmine Thomas,
and juniors Klarissa Bell and Annalise Pickrel all scored at last 17
points in the win, helping improve the Spartans'
record to 21-7 overall and moved them into a tie for third in the Big
Ten at 9-6. Pickrel scored a game-high 18 points in 29 minutes off the
bench,
shooting 6-for-11 from the field and 4-for-7 from 3-point. She also
added a team-best six rebounds. Thomas and Bell each added 17 points,
while Thomas chipped in three assists, and Bell was strong defensively
with three steals and two blocks. Sophomore Kiana Johnson led the squad
with six assists to just two turnovers, and picked up eight points and

Michigan 55, Northwestern 50
The University of
Michigan women's basketball team claimed the fifth
20-win season in program history, defeating Northwestern, 55-50, behind a
52-point effort from the Wolverines' five senior starters on Senior
Night Thursday (Feb. 28) inside Crisler Center. U-M led by 11 midway
through the second half, before the Wildcats cut it to one late; but the
Wolverines hung on in their final home game to close out the season
with a 13-4 mark in Ann Arbor. On the offensive end, Michigan senior
forward Rachel Sheffer scored a team-high 17 points to go with six
rebounds. Senior forward Nya Jordan recorded her third straight
double-double (11 points, 11 rebounds). Senior guard Jenny Ryan scored
12 points and dished out eight assists. For the game, U-M shot 38.9
percent (21-for-54) from the field and outscored Northwestern, 34-14 in

Tayler
Hill scored 18 of her team-high 21 points in the second half and Ashley
Adams added a season-high 17 points and 10 rebounds as Ohio State
picked up a big road win Thursday, 64-53, over the Illini. The win
improves Ohio State to 6-9 in the Big Ten and 16-12 overall,
keeping its slim NCAA tournament hopes alive. Illinois falls to 16-11
and 9-6 in Big Ten play. Darryce Moore added 12 points off the bench and Ameryst Alston eight points for the Buckeyes, who made 19 of 24 from the free throw line. RECAP
Iowa 75, Indiana 70
On a night when the UI program
honored seniors Morgan Johnson, Trisha Nesbitt and Jaime Printy, a
sophomore sharpshooter came off the bench to score a team-high 22 points
and help dig the Hawkeyes out of an 18-point hole. Melissa Dixon made
5-of-13 3-point field goals, as Iowa outscored the Hoosiers 22-0 in
bench points, and all 22 came
from Dixon. The Hawkeyes shot 60.9 percent from the field in the second
half
(14-of-23) and outscored Indiana 41-26 over the final 20 minutes.
Johnson scored 17 points with nine rebounds, Printy added 14 points and
six assists, and junior Theairra Taylor scored 11 points with three
assists and two blocked shots. A 3-pointer
by Taylor with 2:39 left gave Iowa a 68-65 lead, and it would not trail

Nebraska 55, Wisconsin 53
Hailie
Sample's layup off an assist from Lindsey Moore with 43 seconds left
brought No. 20 Nebraska all the way back from a five-point deficit in
the closing minutes for a 55-53 win at the Kohl Center on Thursday
night. The late heroics by Sample, Moore and Rachel Theriot were enough
to stretch Nebraska's winning streak to 10 straight games and improve to
22-6 overall and 12-3 in the Big Ten. NU's 12 league wins are the
second most in school history. Sample, who also teamed with Moore to
secure another one-possession road win at Iowa during Nebraska's winning
streak, finished with six points. Moore, who added the front end of a
one-and-one free throw with 9.9 seconds left, led Nebraska with 13
points, while adding six rebounds, four assists and two steals. RECAPMinnesota 89, Penn State 81Four Gophers scored in double-figures to help the University of Minnesota (17-12, 6-9 Big Ten) women's basketball team upset #7/7 Penn State, 89-81, Thursday night in Big Ten action from Williams Arena. Micaella Riche led the team with 24 points and five rebounds, while Rachel Banham, Sari Noga and Shayne Mullaney added 23, 19 and 10 points, respectively. It was the first time the Golden gophers defeated a nationally ranked opponent this season, and the first time it took down a team ranked in the top-7 nationally since they defeated Ohio State, 66-63, in overtime on March 6, 2005. The NCAA announced its qualifier allocations for the 2013 Wrestling Championships on Thursday, with the Big Ten matching a conference record and receiving the most of any conference with 74. The Big Ten will send at least six automatic qualifiers in all 10 weight classes, including nine automatic bids at heavyweight, and boasts the highest amount of qualifiers of any conference in each class. The automatic bids will determine 290 of the 330 qualifiers for the NCAA Championships, while the remaining 40 slots will be filled by four at-large selections in each class. The final coaches' panel and RPI rankings were also released on Thursday, with 86 grapplers appearing in the top 33 of their weight class. Five Big Ten wrestlers hold the top coaches' panel ranking in their class, as Ohio State's Logan Stieber (133 pounds), Northwestern's Jason Welch (157), Minnesota's Logan Storley (174), Penn State's Ed Ruth (184) and Minnesota's Tony Nelson (HWT) each close the regular season as the top-ranked wrestlers in the country. The conference also boasts 74 wrestlers in the top 33 of their respective classes in the second and final edition of the RPI rankings, with five taking the top spots. Ohio State's Stieber (133), Penn State's Dylan Alton (157) and David Taylor (165), Minnesota's Kevin Steinhaus (184) and Nelson (HWT) each hold No. 1 RPI rankings to close the regular season.
