Illinois' Tyler Mizoguchi and Jordan Valdez have been named the Big Ten men's gymnastics weekly honorees, the conference office announced on Monday. Mizoguchi takes home Gymnast of the Week laurels while Valdez earns Freshman of the Week accolades.

Big Ten men's gymnastics was again well-represented in the GymInfo national team rankings, placing all six conference squads in the top nine. Illinois leads the way at No. 3 with a team average of 353.450, followed by No. 5 Penn State (346.900), No. 6 Michigan (346.000), No. 7 Minnesota (342.400), No. 8 Ohio State (340.075) and No. 9 Iowa (337.450).

Illinois' Paul Ruggeri and Minnesota's Zack Chase have been named the Big Ten Gymnast and Freshman of the Week, respectively, the conference office announced on Monday. Ruggeri's award marks his second straight and eighth of his career. Chase's laurel is the first by a Minnesota freshman.

Illinois has earned the top national ranking in this week's GymInfo National Men's Gymnastics top 15 after posting a 355.400 team score in their first meet of the season. Penn State also holds a spot in the rankings' top five, boasting the fifth-best team average at 345.150, while No. 6 Michigan (345.100), No. 7 Minnesota (340.700), No. 8 Ohio State (339.800) and No. 10 Iowa (332.800) round out the top 10.
