The Michigan Wolverines jumped to the No. 1 spot this week with a three-score average of 354.033. Illinois checked in at No. 3, averaging 353.000. At No. 5 is Penn State with an average of 346.850 and is immediately followed by Minnesota (345.317) and Ohio State (345.033). Iowa appears at No. 10 this week, averaging 340.383.

Illinois, which boasts an average team score of 351.367, takes over the top spot in the latest rankings, while Michigan checks in at No. 3 with an average of 349.775. Penn State, with a score of 344.262, appears at No. 5 and just fractions of a point ahead of No. 6 Ohio State, which has an average team score of 344.250. Minnesota is seventh with an average of 343.400 and Iowa checks in at No. 8 with a 340.187 average.

Michigan once again ranks as the nation's top squad with a team average of 353.283, more than 1.5 points ahead of second-ranked Illinois, which boasts a team score of 351.725, more than three points ahead of the rest of the pack.

Penn State and Ohio State rank fifth and sixth, respectively. With an average of 344.262, the Nittany Lions are slightly ahead of the Buckeyes, who have an average of 344.250. Minnesota is seventh at 343.817, while Iowa rounds out the Big Ten in the rankings with a team average of 340.187.

Cameron finished third in the all-around and was named to the United States Senior National Team at the Winter Cup Challenge over the weekend, while McGrath wins his first weekly conference award after the No. 7 Hawkeyes knocked off No. 16 Illinois-Chicago.

Illinois' Tyler Mizoguchi and Paul Ruggeri, Michigan's Chris Cameron, Ohio State's Brandon Wynn, and Penn State assistant coach Kevin Tan were all selected to the 17-man roster that will be with the squad until the 2010 Visa Championships, held Aug. 11-14 in Hartford, Conn. Based on the Winter Cup results, 10 gymnasts qualified for the team using the National Team Points System, while the remaining seven were selected by the Men's Program Committee from among the Winter Cup participants and athlete petitions.

Cameron placed second overall based on points with 60, while Ruggeri was fifth with 47 points. Off the strength of his victory in the still rings, Wynn was eighth with 31 points and Mizoguchi was ninth with 29 points. Tan finished just outside the top 10, placing 11th with 26 points.

Up for grabs at this meet are 15 spots on the United States National Team, 10 of which will be awarded to the 10 highest-ranking gymnasts as determined by the National Team Points Program and five others will be selected by the Men's Program Committee

Current Big Ten student-athletes advancing to Saturday's final include Illinois' Tyler Mizoguchi, C.J. Padera, Daniel Ribeiro, Paul Ruggeri, Luke Stannard and Chad Wiest; Michigan's Kent Caldwell, Chris Cameron, Phillip Goldberg, Thomas Kelley, Ian Makowske and Mel Anton Santander; Minnesota's Aaron Fortunato; and Ohio State's Ty Echard, Steven Spencer and Brandon Wynn. In all, 43 of the 120 gymnasts that participated in the preliminary round on Thursday advanced to Saturday's final.

Following Day 1, Cameron is second overall with 59 points, Wynn is fourth with 53 points, and Tan is fifth with 47 points. Final all-around and individual rankings are based on the combined scores from Day 1 and Day 2.

Michigan junior Chris Cameron won three individual event titles and finished third in another in Michigan's victory over Iowa on Saturday, while Illinois' Yoshi Mori earns his second Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor after helping the Illini to a 349.700-341.350 victory over Ohio State on Saturday.
