Four Big Ten women's gymnastics teams appeared in the latest GymInfo National Team Rankings that were released on Monday.

Leading the Big Ten in the polls was Michigan at No. 13, with an average team score of 195.240. Not far behind at No. 15 was Penn State, with a team average of 195.165. Illinois checked in at No. 20 with a 194.430 average and Michigan State was 22nd with an average team score of 194.146.

On Monday, the Big Ten Conference announced Penn State's Brandi Personett was named Gymnast of the Week, while Michigan's Natalie Beilstein won Freshman of the Week honors.

Personett wins her 12th career Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award after leading 17th-ranked Penn State to a 196.425-196.275 victory over No. 23 Illinois on Saturday night, while Beilstein wins her third consecutive Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor after helping the No. 15 Wolverines to a 196.400 team score and a first-place finish at the West Virginia triangular over the weekend.

Five women's gymnastics conference squads appeared in the latest GymInfo Women's National Team Rankings, released Monday.

Michigan checks in at No. 15 in the latest rankings, with an average score of 194.950, while Penn State trails by exactly one point at No. 17. Michigan State is ranked 21st with a 194.065, Illinois appears at No. 23 with a team score of 193.969, and Minnesota rounds out the top 25 with a 193.587 average.

The Big Ten Conference announced this week's winners of the women's gymnastics weekly awards on Monday.

Iowa's Rebecca Simbhudas wins the second Gymnast of the Week honor of her career and her first of the 2010 season, while Michigan's Natalie Beilstein wins her third Freshman of the Week award following three top-three finishes as Michigan took first at the Iowa State triangular on Friday.

Five Big Ten women's gymnastics teams rank among the nation's top 25, according to the recent GymInfo Women's National Team Rankings that were released on Monday.

Michigan was the top conference school in the poll, appearing at No. 17 with an average score of 194.600. Penn State was 19th, averaging a team score 194.458, and Michigan State's score of 193.862 ranks it 22nd. Minnesota appeared at No. 23 with an average team score of 193.833 and Ohio State is 25th with an average of 193.625.

Penn State's Brandi Personett earned her 11th Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award after finishing first in four events and scoring a perfect 10 on vault, while Michigan's Natalie Beilstein earned her second Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor after helping Michigan to a dual meet split over the weekend.

Three Big Ten teams were ranked in the top 25 of this week's GymInfo Women's National Rankings, which was released on Monday.

Michigan led the conference, appearing at No. 15 in the polls with a team score of 194.875 points. Fellow in-state school Michigan State checked in at No. 19 with a team score of 194.175 and Penn State, with a score of 194.025, appeared at No. 22 in the national rankings.

The conference office on Monday announced the winners of the Gymnast and Freshman of the Week awards. Illinois' Allison Buckley was named Gymnast of the Week after finishing first in the all-around at last weekend's Nebraska triangular. Freshman of the Week honors went to Michigan State's Shanthi Teike, who was the top finishing freshman, and third overall, in the all-around, helping the Spartans to a first place finish in a tri-meet with Iowa and Illinois-Chicago.

The conference office on Monday announced the Gymnast and Freshman of the Week winners for the first time of the 2010 season. Penn State's Brandi Personett won Big Ten Gymnast of the Week, her 10th time winning the award, after an all-around score of 39.225 and three event wins in Penn State's season opening quadrangular against Michigan State, West Virginia and Western Michigan.

The inaugural Freshman of the Week award went to Michigan's Natalie Beilstein, who won two events to help Michigan to a tri-meet victory over Iowa and Bowling Green.
